The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a portion of a whole-of-government email program known as TMD Connect.

For Accessing Email (WA Health staff only)

If you are not linked with the WA Health system (e.g. House, Overseas or personal training ) and will need to access your mails, you’ll be asked to supply more than 1 type of identification also referred to as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

MFA is a two-step verification process to reduce the risk of malicious hackers from retrieving sensitive data from workers accessing webmail when out of the WA Health network.

MFA is more secure than just a password because it is determined by two kinds of authentication:

• Something you know (e.g. Your password) and something you’ve got with you (e.g. phone or device).
• This two-step verification helps to stop malicious hackers from pretending to be you, because even if they have your password, odds are that they don’t have your phone or device, too.

Webmail option

For non-Office 365 users, sign-in to Webmail (WA Health staff only).

Outlook Online

Microsoft Outlook Online has been rolled out across WA Health throughout 2020. It provides access to email, calendar, contacts, and tasks from backgrounds, the internet, and mobile devices from any web browser or device.

This update will improve and enhance your present webmail experience supplying you with a updated look and feel. For employees utilizing Outlook Online, register into your email via www.office.com.

To establish your emails on your own device (work or private mobile). Please refer to the user guide that’s relevant for your mobile device i.e. Apple Mail, Google Mail, Samsung Email.

DHHS Self Service password Reset

A new self-service password reset facility is available for all employees to handle their password. This centre is accessible inside or outside the WA Health Network.

How to Create User Self Services?

• Step 1
  – Open Google Chrome.
  – And then open an incognito window from the menu and selecting
  “New incognito window”.
• Step 2
• Go to https://myapps.microsoft.com.
  – Where you’ll be prompted to sign in. Enter your HE number (e.g. hexxxxx@health.wa.gov.au).
• Step 3
• A pop-up window will then ask for your username and password.
  – Login in using your HE password and number.
• Step 4
• Once you have successfully logged into the portal:
  – Click on the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen, next to your name.
  – Select the option ‘Profile’ from the dropdown menu.
• Step 5
• Click on the menu item’Setup self service password reset’.
• Step 6
• To make sure you can reset your password.
  – The self service password reset information won’t be used to spam you just to maintain your account more secure.
  – By default, you will want to choose at least one (1) of the next.
  – Click’Set this up today’ or’Set up them today’.
  – Set up an Authentication Phone number,
  – Setting an Authentication Email address(not your WA Health work email)
  – Set up five Security Questions.
• Step 7
• To establish your Authentication Telephone as your chosen authentication.
  – Enter your authentication phone number’. Then, select either:
  – Text me, or
  – Call me.
• Step 8
• To Prepare an Authentication Email as your chosen authentication.
  – Enter your authentication email (not your WA Health work email), and choose’email me’.
  – The system will send an email to your nominated personal email
  address.
  – Enter the code displayed from the email message into the empty field.
  – Click ‘verify’.
• Step 9
• Then, select ‘save answers’.
• Step 10
• If your authentication method(s) was set up successfully, then a green tick will appear beside it, according to below, and select’complete’.
