OX Mail Availability

Users will be able to download their respective client for their device from the corresponding app store free of charge. The availability of the various clients depends on the approval process of the store provider.

Email account setup on OX Mail app for iPhone

This guide provides instructions on how to set up your Private Email account in the OX Mail application on an iOS device. To create your Private Email account, follow this step by step guide.

  Go to the App Store on your smartphone.
• Step 2
  Install the OX Mail by Open-Xchange application.
• Step 3
  Enter your full Private Email address.
• Step 4
  Click on the Login button.
• Step 5
  Copy and paste this address: https://privateemail.com into the respective field fill below.
• Step 6
  Please enter the password to log in to your Private Email account and click on the Login button.
• Step 7
  Now you are free to check, send, and receive emails to your Private Email account via the OX Mail application.

Using OX App Suite with an Email Program

You can use OX App Suite online using any browser. It is also possible to OX App Suite with e-mail programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Apple Mail.

OX App Suite Email Server Settings

Use the following mail servers to set up your e-mail program:

How do access Open-Xchange email via web browser (webmail)?

Using OX Webmail, you can access your e-mail, contacts and calendar at any time from any location, as long as you have Internet connection and a browser. The OX (Open-Xchange) App Suite webmail interface can be accessed via SiteControl or by going directly to webpage.

Access the OX App Suite webmail directly:

• Open this link: webmail.hostway.com/appsuite.
• Enter your Username and Password.
• And tick on stay sign in the box.
• Then, click on the ‘Sign in’ button.

Access the OX App Suite webmail via SiteControl:

• Log in to SiteControl.
• Click the Setup and Manage Email link available on the home page.
• Alternatively, you can click on the Email icon under Manage Services, which will open the email section of SiteControl.
• On the next page, you can select Open-Xchange App Suite.
• On the Open-Xchange App Suite page, locate the mailbox you wish to access and click on the corresponding Inbox link.
• Select the correct domain name first, using the Currently Managing drop-down menu at the top.

OX webmail calendars to Android phone

• Install CalDAV Sync Adapter (on F-Droid, there’s version 1.8.1).
• F-Droid is a free and open source alternative app store for Android.
• Otherwise you can get the app in the normal google play store.
• Go to Settings/Accounts, click “Add account”, then select “CalDav Sync Adapter”.
• Enter your AEI user name and password; for URL use webmail instead of caldav also works.
• Click “CalDav Sync Adapter” in the list of accounts, enable “Calendar” sync.
• There will be notifications about “new calendars found”.
• Open your preferred calendar app and check the calendar list.
• Possible App’s are a Calendar and com.android.calendar.

Assigning OX Mail to new and existing accounts

• OX mail is available to be added to all email addresses.
• New email addresses you create in the Email section, by default have altmail access.
• This can be corrected in the Users section of your control panel.
• Click on the Display Name of the new email account, and then click on Add Service.
• Ensure that both Email and Blacknight App Suite are ticked and then click Next.
• Click Next past the screen with a tickbox for Mobile.
• On the next screen, with the contact information, blank out the Given Name and Surname.
• Then click Next until Finish.
• Alternatively, you can create all new email accounts from the Users section, and give the Email and Blacknight App Suite services at the time of creation.

How To Backing Up OX Email?

Webmail access is not only a convenient way to manage your email, but it’s also a usual avenue for troubleshooting and backing up your email, should you run into issues requiring you to do so. In this step, you are shown how to save a backup of email to a specific folder of your OX webmail that you can use.

• To begin, first, navigate to the email section of your Sitelio account.
• Ensure that you have an email set-up by checking the List of addresses.
• Look for “Launch Webmail” button towards the top right-hand corner of the Manage Email Addresses screen.
• You will land on a screen where you can enter your email address and password to log in.
• If you forgot your password, you could update that from the “Manage Email Addresses” screen by selecting the kebab menu (3 stacked dots) next to the word “Active” from your list of email addresses.
• Once you land inside your webmails main account screen, you’ll want to navigate to the folder you want to back up as the steps are the same, but this process will only grab folders at a time.
• Check the “Select All” option to grab everything in this folder.
• Next, click on the three horizontal lines known as the “Hamburger Menu” to reveal a set of options.
• From this drop-down menu, look for and Select “Save as File.”
• Once you select “Save as File,” a file will appear in the destination you choose. (Typically you can find this in your “Recent Downloads Folder” on your computer.)
• That’s it! Repeat the process for the different folders in the account like your sent, junk, or custom folders.
