What is Plusnet Webmail?
Plusnet Webmail is a free email service that provides users with an online mailbox to, send and receive emails. It’s account for companies looking to provide their employees with an online mailbox where they can use email related works from home and emails securely.
Plusnet Webmail has many features for creating webmail folders, email contacts and editing, creating filters, sending messages in HTML format with attachments, retrieving messages from POP3 / IMAP accounts.
Plusnet Webmail Login
To login to Plusnet Webmail you will need Plusnet’s username and password, so you can get it first and then login to Plusnet Webmail using the steps below.
- First open this webpage link webmail.plus.net.
- Enter your username and password in the field.
- Select on Server (plusnet, force9, free online, metronet).
- Then click on the ‘Login’ button.
Change or Reset Plusnet Webmail Password
The username and password for your main or first Plusnet email account address are the same as your account username and password.
For a reminder of your account username, check the welcome email or letter they sent you when you joined Plusnet or set up your Plusnet email address.
If it’s your password you’ve forgotten, go to plus.net/forgotpassword/ and follow the steps below.
Forgotten password
- Open this forgot password link.
- Enter your Mobile number or username in the field.
- Enter your email account address in the field.
- Select on Your internet provider (plusnet, force9, free online etc).
- Then click on the ‘Reset’ option.
Plusnet Webmail IMAP and POP Server Settings
You’ll need to give a few more details when you’re setting up your email application. This is only available if you’ve got an active Plusnet broadband account.
IMAP and POP are ways you can download your emails from Plusnet systems to another email application. When you’re setting things up, you’ll need to choose which one to use.
IMAP Server
- Incoming server: imap.plus.net
- Incoming port: 993
- Outgoing server: relay.plus.net
- Outgoing port: 587 (recommended) or 25
- STARTTLS: Yes
- SMTP Authentication: Yes
POP Server
- Incoming server: mail.plus.net
- Incoming port: 995
- Outgoing server: relay.plus.net
- Outgoing port: 587 (recommended) or 25
- STARTTLS: Yes
- SMTP Authentication: Yes
If your client doesn’t support STARTTLS, then you can set SSL/TLS to Yes and set the outgoing port to 465.
How to Setup Plusnet Webmail Account on Android phone?
You can use these guide to set up email for your Plusnet email address or email for a domain hosted on your account.
- From your home screen open the app drawer.
- Fill in your Email Address and Password in the field.
– Email Address: Enter the address you’re setting up, this could be a Plusnet address or a hosted domain address.
– Password: Enter the password for your email address. - Press Next to continue.
- Choose POP3 or IMAP it’s up to you which one you want to use, but for devices with limited memory, they recommend IMAP.
- More settings will appear, some will already be filled in.
- Enter the Username and IMAP or POP server details and press Next.
– Username & Password: Enter the username and password for the email address you’re setting up.
– IMAP/POP3 Server: For IMAP this is imap.plus.net – for POP, this is mail.plus.net. - Press Next.
- Enter the SMTP server and Port.
- Make sure Require sign-in is ticked, the Username and Password should already be filled in.
– SMTP server: smtp.plus.net or relay.plus.net.
– Port: 587.
– Username & Password: Enter the username and password for the email address you’re setting up. - Press Next when you’re done.
- Change these settings to match your requirements and press Next.
- Finally, enter a name for your account and outgoing messages and press Next.
– Give this account a name: Enter a useful description of the email address you’re setting up.
– Your name: Enter your full name. - Press Next when you’re done.
- Your email should appear on screen and be ready to use within a few minutes.
Setup Plusnet Mail on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad

You can use these guide to set up email for your Plusnet email address or email for a domain hosted on your account.
- Open your device and from your home screen press Settings.
- From the setting menu, choose Mail, Contacts, Calendars followed by Add Account.
- From the Add Account menu choose Other.
- Fill in your Full Name, Email Address, Password and Description and press Next.
– Full name: Enter your name.
– Email Address: Enter the address you’re setting up, this could be a Plusnet address or a hosted domain address.
– Password: Enter the password for your email address.
– Description: Enter a useful description of the email address you’re setting up. - Press Next to continue.
- More settings will appear, some will already be filled in.
- Enter the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server details and press Next.
- MAP/POP This will default to IMAP it’s up to you which one you want to use below information.
- Incoming Mail Server settings:
– Host Name: For IMAP this is imap.plus.net for POP, this is mail.plus.net.
– User Name & Password: Enter the username and password for the email address you’re setting up. - Outgoing Mail Server settings:
– Host Name: relay.plus.net.
– User Name & Password: These are optional, but if you want to send mail while on the move, they recommend filling these in. - Enter the username and password for the email address you’re setting up.
- When you’re finished, press Next.
- Press Yes button.
- After a minute or two, your email address will be set up and ready to use.
How to Setup Plusnet Webmail in Microsoft Outlook?
Follow these guide to set up your Plusnet or hosted domain email address.
Microsoft Outlook 2010
- If this is the first time you’ve opened Outlook 2010, the Welcome to Outlook 2010 Startup window will appear automatically.
- Click Next twice.
- Otherwise click the File tab, make sure Info is selected from the left menu and click Add Account.
- Select Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next.
- Select Internet E-mail and click Next.
- Fill in your account details information:
– Your Name: Enter your name or the name you’d like people to see when you send them email.
– E-mail Address: Enter the address you’re setting up, this could be a Plusnet address or a hosted domain address.
– Account Type: Select either POP3 or IMAP from the dropdown list.
– Incoming mail server: For POP3, this is mail.plus.net, for IMAP this is imap.plus.net.
– Outgoing mail server (SMTP): relay.plus.net.
– User name & Password: Use the username and password for this email address. - Click Next when you’ve finished entering these details.
- Outlook will now test the settings you’ve entered. Click Close when it’s finished.
– If the test is successful, that’s all you need to do, click Finish.
– If the test fails you’ll be taken back to the Internet E-mail Settings screen to fix the problem. - Click on the Send/Receive button and your email will be downloaded to your Inbox.
Microsoft Outlook 2007
- Go to Tools on the top bar and select Account Settings.
- The Account Settings window should appear, from here select the account you want to edit and click Change.
- Change Outgoing mail server (SMTP) to relay.plus.net and click More Settings.
- On the Internet E-mail Settings window, click the Outgoing Server tab and make sure that My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication is unticked.
- Now click the Advanced tab and make sure the settings match the ones you see below:
– Incoming server (POP3): 110
– Outgoing server (SMTP): 25 - Click OK and you’ll be back at the Change Email Account window.
- Click Next and then close the Congratulations screen.
Outlook Express
- Go to Tools on the top bar and select Accounts. The Internet Accounts window will appear.
- Click on the Mail tab to see a list of mail accounts currently set up on this machine.
- Double-click on the Account name you want to update to open the Properties window for that account.
- On the properties window, click the Servers Tab.
– Incoming mail (POP3) Account name and Password as they are, these settings allow you to receive messages and will not need changing.
– Change the Outbound (SMTP) server to relay.plus.net.
– Make sure My server requires authentication at the bottom is unticked. - Click Apply and move to the next step.
- Click the Advanced tab and make sure the Outgoing Mail settings match the ones you see below:
– Outgoing mail (SMTP): 25
– Incoming mail (POP3): 110
– Server requires: SSL - Click OK and you’ll be back at the Internet Accounts window.
- Click Close to finish.
- You’ll now be able to send email with the address supplied by your previous provider.
How to Setup Configure Plusnet Webmail on Windows?
Windows Mail
- Go to Tools on the top bar and select Accounts.
