You need your email address and password to login to Rackspace Webmail. Follow the steps below to login.
- First open this webpage.
- Enter your email address and password.
- Then click on the ‘login‘ button.
Configuring an Email Client with a Rackspace Mailbox
Once you’ve created your Rackspace mailbox and add MX and SPF records to your DNS registrar panel, you can also configure and use your favorite email clients to send and receive emails in a variety of ways.
This is fairly optional and easy and make your choice to set up your mailbox with an email client, as you can use your mail account at the same time through the following settings through the mail account provided using Webmail.
Default IMAP settings
Throughout this guide, you’ll learn how to configure IMAP on your preferred mail clients using the following criteria. Use IMAP to keep a copy of your emails on your Rackspace account; This will allow you to use multiple email clients at once.
- Your Name: enter your Name or Business Name
- Login Name: select your Mailbox Email Address
- Password: enter your Mailbox Password
- Account Type: Choose IMAP
- Incoming Mail Server: secure.emailsrvr.com
- Outgoing Mail Server: secure.emailsrvr.com
- Incoming Mail Server: IMAP
- TCP Port: 993 (SSL)
- Outgoing Mail Server: SMTP
- TCP Port: 465 (SSL)
How to Configure Windows Mail client on Rackspace?
- First open the Mail application from the Windows Start menu.
- If you have opened the Mail application for the first time, you will see a page named ‘Welcome’.
- Click Add Account to get started.
- If you’ve used or have used the Mail app before, then select the Settings> Manage Accounts> Add Account option.
- Select another account option.
- Enter your mailbox email address.
- Next, define the name you want to use when sending the message.
- And enter your mailbox password.
- Just done now, you have successfully configured your Rackspace mailbox with the Windows Mail client.
Note: The syncing process between Windows Mail and your mailbox may take some time to retrieve email data.
How to Configure MS Outlook Mail Client on Rackspace?
- Launch your Microsoft Outlook. In this guideline, we will show the use of Microsoft Outlook 2016.
- If you are opening Outlook for the first time, you will see a ‘Welcome’ page.
- Click on the ‘Next’ option to get started.
- If you’ve used Outlook before, then go to File> Add Account option.
- If you are prompted to set up Outlook to connect to an email account, select ‘Yes’.
- And click the ‘Next’ option.
- Select Manual Setup or Additional Server Types and proceed and click Next button.
- In your account, the following information must be entered:
– Your Name: enter your name or business name
– Email address: enter your mailbox email address
– Account type: IMAP
– Incoming mail server: secure.emailsrvr.com
– Outgoing mail server: secure.emailsrvr.com
– Username: enter your mailbox email address
– Password: enter your mailbox password - Then click More Settings.
- Switch to Outgoing Server, check My Outgoing Server (SMTP) requires authentication.
- Change Use the following types of encrypted connections with SSL for both incoming and outgoing servers.
- Next, change the Incoming Server (IMAP) port to 993, Outgoing Server (SMTP) port to 465, and click OK button.
- Click Next button.
- Outlook will now attempt a smaller test by sending a text message using the configuration.
- If everything is configured correctly, the message will be sent successfully.
- Click Close option.
- Finally, click ‘Finish’ to close the setup wizard.
Setup or Configure a Mozilla Thunderbird mail client
- Starting with Thunderbird If you’ve opened Mozilla Thunderbird for the first time, an existing page will ask you to set up an existing email account.
– Your Name: enter your Name or Business Name
– Email Address: enter your Mailbox Email Address
– Password: select your Mailbox Password - Once done, click Manual settings Configure.
- If you’ve used the Thunderbird before, then go to Menu > New> Existing Mail Account.
- In the current window, enter the following information to match the image below:
- Incoming Server Setting:
– Email Protocol: IMAP
– Server hostname: secure.emailsrvr.com
– Port: 993
– SSL: SSL/TLS
– Authentication: Autodetect - Outgoing Servcer Swtting:
– Email Protocol: SMTP
– Server hostname: secure.emailsrvr.com
– Port: 465
– SSL: SSL/TLS
– Authentication: Autodetect - Click on the ‘done’ option and click Re-test.
- Once testing is successful, you can click Done to finish the setup.
- You have now set up Mozilla Thunderbird to work with your Rackspace mailbox.
- The syncing process between Thunderbird and your mailbox may take some time based on the amount of email data to be fetched.
Setup or Configure iOS Mail Client on Rackspace
- Visit Settings and tap Passwords and Accounts (password & account, mail, contacts, calendars, notes etc option).
- In this guide, we explain how to use the Mail app for iOS 13.
- Next, tap Add Account option (account, add account option).
- Make another select option at the bottom (iCloud, exchange, google, yahoo!, AOL, outlook.com any option).
- Tap Add Mail Account (add mail account, add mac OS server account).
- Enter the following information, which appears in the next screen:
– Name: enter your Name or Business Name
– Email Address: enter your Mailbox Email Address
– Password: choose your Mailbox Password
– Description: anything you’d like! - Then Once click on ‘done’ option and click Next button.
- Next, enter the following information, the previously entered info should already be prefixed from the last section.
- Incoming Mail Server setting:
– Email Protocol: IMAP
– Host Name: secure.emailsrvr.com
– Username: enter your Mailbox Email Address
– Password: choose your Mailbox Password - Outgoing Mail Server setting
– Host Name: secure.emailsrvr.com
– Username: enter your Mailbox Email Address
– Password: enter your Mailbox Password - Once done, tap Next button.
- On the next screen you will need to confirm that the mail feature is enabled and then press the save button to save your settings.
- Done, you have successfully configured your Rackspace mailbox with the mail application.
Note: The syncing process between the mail client and your mailbox may take some time depending on how the email data is retrieved.
How to use Rackspace Email Add-on?
If you need a mailbox for your domain (e.g. me@mydomain.com), you must partner with Rackspace to provide their trusted Rackspace email service. For just $ 1 / month per mailbox, you will receive a full-featured email experience that you can trust that will be powered by Cloudway.
You can also set and configure mailboxes, aliases, mail forwarding, and add catch-all addresses to your domains.
Step 1: Do not set Rackspace Ad-Set
- Log in to the Cloudway platform with your credentials.
- Click on the grid icon in the top menu bar.
- Then select Add-ons.
Step 2: Set up mailboxes
- Click the Edit icon next to Rackspace Email.
- And you will be taken to the main rackspace mailbox screen.
- You will only need to enter your email address and password to set up the mailbox.
- You can set up as many mailboxes as you want from this screen by clicking Add Mailbox.
Notes:
- Password length must be at least eight characters, including uppercase, lowercase letters, and a combination.
- If this is the first time to set up a mailbox for your domain, you will need to configure your DNS records.
- If you would like to add DKIM records, please contact us via live chat or open a support ticket.
- Contact our support if you have subscribed to Cloudway DNS Made Easy add-to for DNS management.
Step 3: Set nicknames
Aliases allow you to create additional email addresses that point to existing mailboxes, without having to create separate mailboxes. All you need to do is login to user@yourdomain.com and check and set up emails received at both addresses.
- You must go to the Alias tab to set the Alias.
- Enter your nickname and select the domain from the drop down menu.
- Next, enter the email address.
- You want to be a member of the nickname.
- Click Add to confirm the changes, and then click Save Changes.
Step 4: To Set up mail forwarding
If you want to set up mail forwarding, you can also forward emails from your mailbox to other mailboxes hosted on and off Cloudway by following the instructions below.
- To set up mail forwarding, go to the Forwarding Mail tab.
- Select the mailbox for which you want to set up mail forwarding from the drop-down menu.
- Next, enter the email address where you want to forward the emails.
- Finally, click ‘Save’ to confirm the changes.
- To set another mail forwarding, click Add Email.
- Complete You can forward emails to a maximum of fifteen (15) addresses, of which four (04) domains can be f-domains.
Step 5: Set Up Catch-All Address
You can create Catch-All addresses that receive all emails sent to incorrect/non existing mailboxes on your domain. This feature ensures that even if the sender makes a mistake in typing the email address, the email is still received on your domain.
- To set up catch-all address, go to the Catch-All tab.
- In the first drop-down, select the domain.
- Then the email address from the second drop-down to setup the catch-all address.
- Finally, click Save Changes to confirm.
How to SetUp Your Rackspace Email On Android Devices?
- Tap on the system settings of your Devices.
- Select Accounts & sync (accounts on some devices).
- Tap on Add option.
- Select Exchange Active Sync (Microsoft Exchange Active Sync on some devices).
- Enter your email address and password and tap Manual Setup.
- On the next page, fill in your required information:
– Email address: your email address (for example, john@chooseyour.org)
– Server Address: mex06.emailsrvr.com
– Domain: (Leave this blank)
– Username: your email address again - Some devices may also have settings as a domain-username.
- There must be a “\” in the field before your email address on those devices.
- With the information filled in, you click Next button.
- You will be prompted to enable remote security administration.
- Press OK or Allow.
- Next select the service you want to sync with the Exchange server and when to sync.
- Tap ‘Next’ button.
- Give your account a descriptive name and tap Finish Setup.
