What is USQ Webmail?
USQ Webmail is a cloud-based service or Web-based email system that allows you to access and use email account address from almost anywhere through an internet connection.
They offer a convenient alternative to email services that reside on a particular workstation, such as Microsoft Outlook, where getting email requires logging into a connection with the server and where emails are stored on site in the hardware storage drive.
USQ Webmail Login
To login to USQ Webmail you need to enter your email account address and password, so keep it with you and login to USQ Webmail through the steps given below.
- First open this webpage link webmail.unisq.edu.au.
- Enter your username and password in the field.
- Click on the ‘Logon‘ button.

By logging in you agree to USQ’s Acceptable Use of ICT Resources Policy and acknowledge that personal information may be collected and used according to USQ’s Privacy Policy.
Forgot or Reset USQ Webmail Login Password
If you have forgotten your password, follow the guides below, or see a step by step information.
- You need to enter your Username.
- Click on Forgot your password link.
- The Authentication Required screen will open.
- An email will be sent to your registered email address, with a Security Code.
- The email will include a Security code that you will need to reset your password.
- You need to take note of the security code and return to the Verify your identity screen.
- You would enter the security code into the field.
- Click on the Next button.
- You will need to enter your new password.
- You will need to confirm the password.
- Click on the Reset button.
- You will receive a message indicating that your password has been change.
- Click on the ‘Finish’ button.
- You can now log in using your new password.
How to access USQ email address as a Research student?
As a Research student you are provided with a staff email account for the duration of your studies, please see below steps to the note below.
You can access your @usq.edu.au email address both on and off campus. On campus if you have access to a UniSQ computer you can setup Outlook with your email details.
USQ Webmail can be accessed via a web browser on and off campus.
Browser View
- Open a web browser.
- Go to www.unisq.edu.au.
- Log into UConnect.
- On the left-hand menu, select Webmail.
- Log into this area with your UConnect username and password (if prompted).
- Your email will then display via the browser.
Alternatively you can also access webmail directly by going to webmail.unisq.edu.au.
Outlook View (from UniSQ computer)
- Open Outlook.
- Outlook will automatically set up your account with your computer log on details.
- Select Next through this process.
- Once this has finished it will display your email via Outlook.
- This may take a little while to synch through to the email server.
Due to security measures in place at UniSQ to prevent email phishing, you cannot forward your student UMail to another UniSQ email address e.g. staff UniSQ email account.
Your @usq.edu.au email address is only available whilst you are active in a program. Once you have cancelled or graduated this email account is no longer valid or accessible.
If you have emails or contacts in your staff email account you wish to keep, ensure that you backup this up prior to the cancellation or completion of your program. If you require assistance contact the ICT Service Desk.
How to Setup USQ Mail account on iPhone or iPad?
USQ mail is a branded Google Gmail account. For ease of use, you can install the Gmail app from the App Store and sign in with your USQ Umail address.
- Within the Gmail app, tap Sign in.
- Click Add account or Add another account (if you are already utilising the Gmail app).
- Tap Google
- Click Continue on the warning window.
- Enter in your UniSQ Umail address (i.e. u1234567@umail.usq.edu.au).
- A UniSQ login screen will appear.
- Enter your UConnect username and password
- Click Login.
- On the Accounts Page, tap on Done.
To setup your UniSQ Umail account on your iPhone or iPad using the default Mail app, follow the below steps.
- Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts (on older iOS version, the setting could be located underneath Passwords and Accounts and or Mail, Contacts, Calendars).
- Click Add Account.
- Tap Google.
- Enter in your UniSQ UMail address i.e. u1234567@umail.usq.edu.au.
- Click Next.
- A UniSQ login screen will appear.
- Enter your UConnect username and password
- Click Login.
- At the next screen, choose information from your email account, like Contacts or Calendars.
- Click Save.
You will now be able to access your UniSQ UMail from the Mail App of your device.
To edit the email name description:
- Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
- Select the newly added Gmail (UMail) account.
- Click Account.
- At the next screen, edit the ‘Description’ field to something suitable so that you know it is your UniSQ UMail account.
- Click Done.
The updated Description for your UMail account will now show in the Mail App of your device.
Setup UniSQ UMail account on Android device
To setup your UniSQ UMail account on your Android device, follow the below steps.
- Open Settings.
- Open Accounts & User Settings.
- Choose Add account.
- Choose Google.
- Enter your UniSQ UMail address (e.g. u1234567@umail.usq.edu.au).
- Press Accept.
- At the UniSQ login screen, enter your UConnect username and password.
- Press Logon.
- You will return back to the Accounts page or Home page.
- From here, select ‘Google’ from the list and then select your UMail account from the available Google email account options that you have setup.
How to forward mail from UMail account to another email account?
You can forward UniSQ University emails sent to your UMail account, to other non UniSQ email address.
Due to security measures in place at UniSQ to prevent email phishing, you cannot forward your student UMail to another UniSQ email address, e.g staff UniSQ email account.
Once you have logged into your UMail account
- Click on the options (cog) result for google settings icon icon in the top right hand corner.
- Click on the settings menu option.
- Tap on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
- Click on the Add a forwarding address button.
- Enter the forwarding address email in the email address field.
- Click on the Next button.
- Check that you have entered the correct email address, and click on Proceed.
- Click on OK.
You will need to log into your forwarding email account to verify the change. Click on the link within the email to finish verifying the change. You will then be taken back to UMail.
In UMail
- Click on the option (cog) icon, Forward a copy of incoming mail to.
- Click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
- Under the ‘Forward a copy of incoming mail to’ section, near the top of the screen.
- Click on the drop-down a list and choose an option that suits.
- Click on the Save changes button.
Your emails may take up to an hour to redirect. Emails already in your UMail inbox WILL NOT be redirected.
