What is Usyd Webmail?
Usyd webmail is a unique ID and password used that will allow you to access systems and resources at the university. After you accept your offer, your unique email will be sent to you and registration will be opened for your course.
Allows access to your email on a regular basis to stay up to date on important information. Their campus email fee 365 is used to power email accounts.
Usyd Email
Your University student email account will be provided to you when you register. You need to check your university email address regularly as will contact you if you need to keep in touch with the university.
Email format and password
Your email address is the UniKey followed by @uni. Sydney.edu.au, Use your UniKey password to log in to your email.
If you can’t log into your email, you might need to synchronise your password, or if you do not know your password you can reset it. If you change your password, you’ll need to update your changed password on all your devices.
How to access your email
You can access your email through Office365 in a web browser. More information on accessing your email through Office365 is available on the Office support site.
You can also set up an email account on your device.
How To Use Usyd email on the Mac Mail?
Note: Requires macOS 10.14 or later.
- Open ‘Mail’ app.
- From the Mail menu, select ‘‘Add account’, then ‘Exchange’.
- Enter your full name and student email address.
- Select ‘Sign in’ to the account when you use Micro .ft.
- Enter your university password, select ‘Sign in’.
Usyd Webmail Login
- First Open this Link.
- Enter your Please sign in with your UniKey.
- Enter password.
- Last click on the “SIGN IN” button.
How Used for Windows 7 and above?
- Select the Wireless Network Settings icon in the system tray.
- Select the ‘UniSydney’ network.
- Enter your UniKey and password.
- If you receive a prompt to set up a safety certificate, make sure the name is auth.wireless.sydney.edu.au prior to continuing.
You may need to enter the following details:
- SSID: UniSydney.
- Security type: WPA2 Enterprise.
- EAP method: PEAP with MSCHAPV2.
Setup iPhone and iPad or Mac OS X
iPhone and iPads
- Go to ‘Settings’, then ‘Wi-Fi’.
- Select the ‘UniSydney’ network.
- Enter your UniKey and password.
- If you are given a prompt to install a security certificate, make sure the title is auth.wireless.sydney.edu.au.
Mac OS X
- Select the AirPort icon in the system tray.
- Select the ‘UniSydney’ network.
- Enter your UniKey and password.
For Setup Android phones and tablets
- Go to ‘Settings’, then ’Wi-Fi’.
- Select UniSydney Network Options and fill out the form or information below:
– EAP method: PEAP
– Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPv2
– CA certificate: Do not validate
– User certificate: Unspecified
– Identity: Your UniKey
– Anonymous identity: leave blank
– Password: your UniKey password
How to Setup Outlook 2016 in Usyd Webmail?
Note: Requires Outlook 2016 or later
- Go to ‘File’, then ‘Add account’.
- Enter your student email address.
- Click ‘Connect’.
- Select ‘Microsoft 365’.
- Enter your university password.
- Click ‘Sign in’.
- Follow the prompts to complete adding the account.
What is The University of Sydney of UniKey?
Your Own UniKey is a exceptional ID and password which will give you access to resources and systems in the University.
UniKey is emailed to you after you accept your offer and enrolment has opened to your course. You will have it for the duration of your candidature as a student at the University. As your Unique will finish you during the study break of the study related resources. Find out more about UniKey expiry.
Remember to maintain your UniKey details safe, as it allows access to your data and is necessary to complete tasks related to your research.
You can change UniKey password online.
Update password on your devices
If you update your UniKey password, you will need to update your settings on any devices (such as laptops, phones and tablets) that you use for accessing University systems. If you don’t do this, your email app will try to log in with the incorrect information and lock you out of your accounts.
iPhone
- Go to ‘Settings’, then ‘Mail, contacts, calendars’.
- Select your active exchange account, then ‘Account: unikey@uni.sydney.edu.au’.
- Update your password.
Android
- Go to your ‘Email’ app, then open the ‘Settings’ menu.
- Select your email account.
- Then add ‘More settings’ and then ‘Exchange server settings’.
- Update your password.
You have to check your phone’s notifications in different Android phones.
You will need to update your password for other apps (such as Canvas) or where it has been stored by your browser. And you will need to enter your Unikey and new password to log in again.
Forgotten UniKey or password?
In case you’ve recorded your cellular number and personal email address in Sydney Student, you are able to reset UniKey password online.
Usually visit the center. You will need to bring photo ID.
If you can’t log in?
Try synchronising password across all University systems. It takes 15 minutes to the change to take effect. If you are using a wireless device, make sure you update your network settings with your new password.
If that doesn’t work, call us to reset your password over the phone. Visit the learning hub with your photo ID.
UniKey expiry
Generally, your UniKey will expire on the census date after your final semester of enrolment. By way of example if you finished your studies in Semester two, your UniKey will perish on the Semester 1 census date the following year.
When coming to graduation and your UniKey has expired, we Make Sure That Your UniKey is reactivated in time so that you can still access University systems such as Sydney Student to RSVP to your graduation invitation. Whenever your UniKey expires you do not eliminate access to a University email account.
How to Setup iPhone and iPads in Usyd Webmail?
Note: Requires iOS 11 or later
- Go to ‘Settings’, ‘Passwords & Accounts’, ‘Add Account’ then ‘Microsoft Exchange’.
- Enter your student email address and a description.
- You will be prompted to sign into your Exchange account using Microsoft.
- Tap ‘Sign in’.
- Enter your UniKey password, then tap ‘Sign in’.
- Toggle the features you want to sync to your phone.
- Tap ‘Next’ and follow the prompts to complete adding the account.
Logging into the University Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- The majority of University systems are readily available as Soon as You are on the World Wide Web, however Endnote or other faculty-based file share systems are only reachable by linking to the Uni. Virtual Private Network (VPN).
- Log in to connect to the VPN.
- For everything else you will not need to connect to the VPN.
Forgotten Student Identification Number?
Your Student Identification Number (SID) is a unique nine-digit amount that identifies you as a student in the University. If you have forgotten your SID, you will discover it in Sydney Student. Go to ‘My details’ and then ‘Personal details’. Alternatively you will also find your SID on your student card.
Reset your forgotten password
If you are a current student or staff member at the University of Sydney, you may use this portal to reset your lost or forgotten password. Students to use this service must have previously recorded your mobile phone number and personal email address within Sydney Student.
Staff members to use this service must have previously enrolled via the Self-service Unikey Password Reset Enrolment portal.

- And click on the submit button.
