The format of the UWA study email alias is email@example.com. You will still keep your current student email accounts. Email addressed to the UWA study email alias will just be delivered to your existing student email account.
To activate your UWA research email alias If You’re a new UWA student and have not activated your Pheme accounts:
- Proceed into Pheme and follow the prompts to activate your Pheme account.
- During the activation process you’ll be asked if you would like to activate your HDR email alias.
- It is possible to choose to activate your HDR email alias in a later time by choosing”No, I really don’t need to use HDR Email Address”.
To Trigger your UWA research email alias If You’re an existing UWA student Using a current Pheme account:
- Select top menu.
- Select “Change email address”.
- If your given and preferred name differ you will need to pick which you wish to appear in your HDR email address.
- Select”Yes, I want to use HDR Email Address”.
- Enter your Pheme password at the”Current Pheme Password” area and choose”Publish”.
- Your contact details will now be upgraded and your default email address in Student Email will be put as your HDR email address.
Note: Once your UWA study email alias is activated in Pheme it may take around 24 hours prior to the new alias is available in Student Mail and email can be received when sent to the new alias.

- Visit this page and type in your username as UWAID@uwa.edu.au and your pheme password.
- You MUST have UWAID@uwa.edu.au after your UWA ID number, even with an your email address.
- If your password isn’t accepted, please visit link and try to login . You can also reset your password from the Pheme site.
- You will then be asked to follow a URL to open this mailbox.
- Type in your username as UWAID@uwa.edu.au.
- Click Next (as you had typed it in throughout the first step).
- Enter your pheme password then click Sign in.
- If this is your first time logging in, you’ll be requested to set the timezone and speech along with if you would like to remained signed in.
You are now logged into your email via the webmail client.
